goCarShare has a new recruit … Oli’s joining the team and has just set off to do a big tour of the universites up north, spreading the word of goCarShare to all who will listen.
He’s just passed through Durham, is in Edinburgh today and will be going to St. Andrews on Thursday. Then there are plans to visit Newcastle, Leeds and York in the near future too. Why? We think that car sharing is a pretty exciting opportunity for students, it’s a great way to head to events, travel to other unis and to get back home. It’s fun, it’s green and it’s a lot cheaper than the train.
Do join the goCarShare facebook page when it becomes available at your university and watch out for goCarShare appearing at the societies’ fair and around campus.
Oh, and if you see Oli around, do say hi … you never know, he may even buy you a drink!

Only a week to go before the Free Range Festival, I really can’t wait – it’s going to be great. It’s a festival with a difference … mass audience participation; there will be impromptu jams, make your own pizza, not to mention some dancing in the moonlit courtyard. I do believe there are a handful of tickets still available at www.freerangefestival.org.uk (literally they are down to the last few).
For those of you coming and who have missed the cheap train tickets, goCarShare can help. There is no parking onsite, festivalgoers are being asked to park at Leicester Train Station where there will be a shuttle bus to the festival, unfortunately parking costs are a whopping £22 for the weekend. So if you are thinking about driving and would like someone to contribute to petrol and parking costs, put a car share request on goCarShare (you log in via facebook and put a listing on the goCarShare homepage from your start point to the train station … it takes a matter of minutes max).
If you need any help, let me know, I am more than happy to assist … otherwise I look forward to seeing you at Free Range!

Exciting times, goCarShare BETA is now live – thank you to everyone who has participated in its development, it really is hugely appreciated. This is just the start, the road ahead is long and unmarked … but I can’t wait, I hope you join us for the journey!
Happy car sharing,
Drummond
