Heading to Big Love?

Big Love is a small, three-day music festival that marks the start of the festival season in unique fashion. It takes place over the Early May Bank Holiday weekend, in and around Baskerville Hall, a country mansion near Hay-on-Wye, Wales.

Big Love is a fiercely independent festival, started in 2016, whose organisers’ ambition is to create a celebratory, extravagant country house take-over, where anything could happen and most likely will. A world away from the big festivals, Big Love is small on capacity (limited to 1000 tickets) but big on atmosphere, parties, art, friends and attention to detail.

Unusually for a festival, a lot of the performances take place inside the historic house; with 3 indoor stages the event is virtually weatherproof, and the music can continue till 5am. In addition Big Love festival has a covered outdoor stage, and also features a Cocktail & Cabaret Stage housed in a giant yurt, and even a secret woodland disco.

The line-up includes hip-hop legend KRS-One, London club night Horse Meat Disco, and BBC 6 Music favourites Flamingods. Other acts include Penya, DJs András (Fox) and Call Super, not to mention some of the best DJs and party promoters from Wales and Bristol. There will also be breaking artists, cabaret, and a separate stage for the legendary rave outfit Fantazia, including DJ Slipmatt.

Big Love’s focus isn’t on headliners though, but on creating magical moments, great parties and experiences that will make a weekend escape memorable - from the secret woodland parties to silly holiday camp activities in the ‘Club House’.

Boutique accommodation options include hotel rooms with four-poster beds, Gypsy bowtop caravans, bell tents and yurts. The house’s swimming pool, sauna, showers and toilets are open to all festival-goers.... Plus an oak-paneled dining room and the best street food traders in Wales for the food lovers.

GoCarShare Booking System

We’ve introduced a new booking system:

Passengers ‘book’ the journey. Once the driver has accepted, the passenger will be asked to prepay via PayPal.

A week after the journey has been completed we will transfer the money to the driver, minus our fee of 15%, which usually works out as just a couple of pounds. Drivers are welcome to factor this cost into the price they quote to take a passenger.

We don’t enforce the booking system, but it is important to use because:

1.     It prevents people dropping out at the last minute so offers the drivers security.

2.     It helps ensures the safety of the platform; everyone is trackable.

3.     This is our way of funding the development of GoCarShare and ensuring that we are here next year too.

We hope you value GoCarShare and support us in using the booking system. Please shoot through any questions at hello@gocarshare.com
