By using our Website you consent to the collection and use of your personal information by us as set forth in this Privacy Policy. If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will update the policy. Use of the Website following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy then in effect. If you do not agree to this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Website.

Personal information we may collect from you

You can access the Website without registering, but you have to register (login via facebook) in order to create a user profile, create a journey, respond to journey listings and post any stories on the site.   When you register, we will ask for your email address as a minimum. Once registered you may also set up a user profile and add additional information to make available to other users including your phone number, address, country of residence, a picture and other details as you choose once this facility becomes available for use.

IMPORTANT: in registering the minimum information (your email address), you will be allowing other users of the site to view your facebook profile (subject to the privacy settings on your facebook account). You may remove any personal information at any time by accessing your facebook account and changing your privacy settings. You may only remove your user profile altogether by ending your membership of the Website by emailing us to that effect at support@gocarshare.com. Although only registered members can view the contact details you make available through your user profile, please remember we have no control over what they do with those details, and are not responsible for what they do with them.   Think carefully about what privacy settings are appropriate for you.

You may provide us with additional personal information in using the Website, for instance when you submit comments or other content.   We will use that content as set out in our Terms of Use and this Privacy Policy.
Please remember that any comments or other content you submit to the Website, will be public and visible by users (including the general public).   Once information about you is made available online, you lose control over it, so please think carefully before you post.   We do not control what our users do with the information you post.

Can other members get in contact with me?

Yes. They can use your email address or phone number if they are available, unless you have restricted your privacy settings on facebook. They can also contact you through the Website by using the contact button which allows any member to contact any other member by sending a message which will appear in your inbox on the Website.    You can choose to prevent members contacting you in this way by changing your privacy settings in your user profile.

 

Will you disclose any of my personal data to third parties?

Third party service providers: Under protection of confidentiality agreements, we use third parties to provide services and manage our sites and relationships with you. These may include website hosting and other organisations that assist us in our marketing activities. Third-party processors and providers will be given access only to that information needed to perform their support functions, and are prohibited from using it for other purposes.

Third party marketing: we may also permit selected third parties to use your data to provide you with information about goods and services which may be of interest to you.
