Heading to Bolton Wanderers?
You can now car share to the Macron Stadium for the cheapest, easiest and generally best way to travel to watch the Trotters.
Car sharing is simple. Drivers simply post their journeys on this page, while passengers can search for a journey and then post if there aren't any matches. Fans then come together to travel to the match, saving loads of money and starting the match-day early!
Car sharing is a fun and cheap way to travel, as well as meeting new people you'll save money against other transport:
Cost of a return ticket from London to Bolton on the train: £80
Cost of a return journey from London to Bolton driving alone: £64
Cost of a return journey from London to Bolton car sharing: £30 per seat
Passengers can save 62% against the train, while drivers can save 53% off their costs by sharing just one seat!
From the North
If travelling down the M6, follow signs for the M61 and leave at Junction 30. Once on the M61, fallow signs for Manchester/Bolton and leave at Junction 6 (Macron Stadium should be visible on the left).
Tale the first exit off the roundabout onto the A6027, the De Havilland Way. At the next roundabout, take a left turn onto Burnden Way and park in the main stadium visitor's car park.
From the South
If travelling up the M6, follow signs for the M62 and leave at Junction 21a, following signs for Manchester. Join the M60 at Junction 12 and proceed to follow signs for the M61 towards Preston. (Do NOT take the A666 towards Bolton.)
Turn off the M61 at Junction 6 and take the third exit off the roundabout onto the A6027, the De Havilland Way. At the next roundabout, take a left turn onto Burnden Way and park in the main stadium visitors' car park.
There are a number of car park facilities available at Macron Stadium and these are operated on a first come first serve basis. Each costs £7.
Car Park A
This is the car park available for away supporters to use on a match day and is located at the South end of the stadium and is accessed via the A6027, De Havilland Way. This car park is clearly sign posted from the motorway junction. Parking is available for cars, mini coaches and coaches. Entry can be purchased on a matchday.
Car Parks B & C
These car parks are available for Home supporters only and are located at the North end of Macron Stadium. These car parks can be reached via Burnden Way. Matchday parking is available in these car parks.
Car Parks D & E
These car parks are dedicated to Home supporter coaches and mini coaches parking and are located at the North end of the stadium. These car parks can be reached bia Burnden Way.
There is a matchday bus which picks up and drops off at Car Park E.
Disabled Car Parking
There are spaced available for blue badge holders on car park A (visiting supporters only) and C (home supporters only), a valid blue bage must be shown to the car park steward before entry is permitted.
